My interest in health started as a curious youth, but that glow ignited into something much larger when I discovered a career path that combined wellness with my passion for food and flavour. I am so grateful that my line of work allows me to share my passion with others and to continue to learn about the impact of nutrition on our physical and emotional health. Food plays such a large role in all of our lives; from daily sustenance to celebrations and comfort, food is integral to our families and our sense of self. I love helping clients to find a balance of nourishment and indulgence in a city of endless cuisines and amidst busy lives. Eating should bring us joy and pleasure, not guilt, anxiety, or fear.
I believe in empowering my clients with the knowledge and skills to make lifestyle modifications to meet their personal health goals. Together, we will create a personalized plan that is unique to you and your desired outcomes. Should your focus be on overall health, chronic disease management, food intolerance, weight management, or beyond, I believe that flavour need not be sacrificed in the name of nutrition. Healthy eating can, and should, be delicious.
While not limited to these, my interests and experience include:
- Building positive relationships with food and eating
- Infant and toddler feeding
- Pre and post natal nutrition
- Food intolerances and digestion disorders
- Chronic disease management (focus on type 1 and type 2 diabetes)
- Athletic training and performance
- Overall wellness and healthy living
I completed my education at UBC, graduating with my Dietetics Major in 2012. I have worked in a variety of health care settings with individuals across the lifespan both in hospital settings and private clinics. I am also a Certified Diabetes Educator, working with both children and adults.
Outside of the office, I am likely exploring the mountains with my four-legged best friend, Lola, or creating something new in the kitchen. I am most excited to be joining Honey + Garlic Health Studio and working alongside a diverse group of practitioners in such a beautiful environment.
